Fight the Power

Hello,

I have been in the work world since 1980.  Some companies I worked for were either independent or locally owned that no longer exist.  Over the same time I read and heard of stories of employees of a once independent company, then acquired by an outside larger firm and the company culture changed–for the worse.

In my opinion, corporate consolidation has contributed–not caused, but contributed–to both the income divide and decrease in employee morale throughout the nation. In some cases, it has enriched shareholders at the expense of other stakeholders, such as employees, customers and local governments.

My purpose for this site is to inform the public about the consequences of such consolidation. It is to also propose that current federal anti-trust/anti-monopoly laws be expanded. Finally, it is to review how we define “capitalism” and promote a rebirth of the basics of having an idea for a product or service and developing it within an arena of competition.

I am not a business executive nor government official.  I am not registered to a specific political party.  This is not like social media sites where people simply rant and attack others. However, they are free to do so. I provide links to articles from experts that I read in order to support my statements.

Search posts either on the right column or below by month, date or categories. I will post on other issues, mainly international, that inspire me.  However, the nation’s economy is my main focus.

Thank you.
